lovinganvil! we love adornment! and we are inspired by nature, family, music, love, color and kindness. We are also inspired equally parts by a passion for succinct and solid design as well as the organic hand print of mother and human nature. Our pieces play between appreciation of clean, orderly geometry and a love of and commitment to the hand hewn.

lovinganvil was founded in 1998 in Portland, Oregon. Trained both east coast (RISD) and the west (UNM) design sense. Moved to Portland, Oregon in the early 90’s and further shaped our design sense as well as a social/eco consciousness.

We worked hard and had a ton of fun in the young, burgeoning Portland fashion scene. We now create in a remodeled/reformed 1880 farm house in southern, coastal Maine. lovinganvil has developed a following for heartfelt, unconventional and completely custom wedding rings.

We love the unexpected, the tongue-in-cheek, and overstating the obvious. Also love custom orders and working with people, and we’re quite adept at calming down crazed, stressed-out brides.

We’ve been honored to find our work in many collections domestically and internationally, and recently, our piece was worn by the amazing Ms Esperanza Spalding, televised at the 2012 Academy Awards, while she sang on stage for the In Memorium.

We will continue to grow our designs and line, bringing in new techniques and ideas to further accentuate adornment as a cohesive dialog — to be worn and loved and felt and thrilled!!
