jumpleaphop! happy happy, everybody.

trying to focus and get back to work — !  lots of good energy which is amazing.

we are so taken by ms. spalding and how lovely her energy and voice and grace and performance and appearance was at the oscars, and just is in general.  the beauty of the song and the delivery and and and.  it’s too much.  what an honor to see our work don her hand in such a tremendous forum.

wow.

i want to mention, again, the awesomeness of ms. tamara horton and her team over at NewYorkDesigner.  and i will continue to refer to and praise them in future posts i’m certain.  not only do they champion their talent/designers/artists, they also do amazing work with the growing ProjectNYD.  ProjectNYD works with young women in ethiopia, bringing occupational training and medical care to some of the most depleted areas of the country.  lovinganvil will team up with ProjectNYD to style some super awesome styliness in the near future.

esperanza spalding wearing lovinganvil

oh wow.  she is so stunning.  the song was so beautiful, and beautifully sang.  and we’re so honored and proud that she wore our ring.

i know we watched with tears on our cheeks, and apparently many others were quite taken with esperanza spalding’s oscars performance.

Spalding’s beautiful take on the Louis Armstrong standard was the perfect accompaniment to a moving In Memoriam tribute. Spalding stood in front of a choir as her voice lifted in the Kodak Theatre while the names and faces of Hollywood legends lost were projected in stark black and white behind her.

It was a performance that allowed millions to see what Grammy voters had already seen in her last year.

wednesday wednesday. mid february 2012

crow.

i couldn’t decide whether to have cream cheese or butter on my bagel this morning.  so i settled on half of each.  i think i enjoyed the butter side more.  either way, i’m not sure i really wanted a bagel.  of course i’ve discovered this after eating the whole thing.

been drinking a lot of mat’e lately.  gil has done some research and we’re getting better at preparing it.  i love the bombillas.  we had natural gourds but i don’t think i did a very good job curing them.  i can try again.  or something.  i’m on a quest for one that really grabs me.

a flurry of orders which is lovely.  so i’m working at the bench today.  i’m also hoping to have some time at the end of the day to work crows, dolls and marionettes.  but that might be a bit unreasonable.

it’s tuesday. must be blogday.

so i’m going to cut to the chase.  esperanza spalding, who won best new artist at the grammys last year, will be wearing lovinganvil at this year’s grammys, airing this sunday.  YEY!  we are over the moon and so honored!

the amazing ms. horton, with new york designer and project nyd, helped the stars align the way they needed to align!  we could not be happier to be working with esperanza and tamara and everyone involved!

right now, it appears ms. spalding will wear the iconic agate heart knuckle ring on the red carpet and the picture jasper farrah ring on stage.  — i gotta figure out how to hook up our vcr.  it’s been a while. …oh man.  do we even have blank tapes?  uhmmmm.  i might have to think this through…
